Ukraine to Putin: Never Again
American Thinker ^ | Clarice Feldman

Word from the battlegrounds in Ukraine is scattered and cannot always be confirmed, but some credible accounts give every indication that Putin may have blundered and faces a stronger defense than he (or the Biden administration) imagined possible. The bravery of a former comedian elected the Ukrainian President and a multimillionaire former boxing champion, now the mayor of Kyiv, who refused flight and stayed to defend their homeland at great risk of their lives, is part of the story. But to my mind, the memory of the Holodomor in which Russia’s Stalin starved to death millions of Ukrainians plays an even greater role and explains why so many ordinary citizens are taking up arms, making makeshift weapons and using every means at their disposal to turn Putin’s incursion into a fight on quicksand. It’s such a welcome surprise to see Europeans defending themselves and even getting support from their neighbors in the fight. **snip**

The Ukrainian foreign minister taunted Putin,” Today, the Kremlin counted the number of downed planes and helicopters, the number of burnt tanks and armoured personnel carriers, and saw how many Russian racists our soldiers disposed of per day.”

Ukraine’s Deputy Defense Minister said about 2,800 Russian soldiers were killed in the first 36 hours of the invasion -- “500 armoured vehicles, 10 aircraft, and seven helicopters.” (As Epoch Times notes, “If confirmed, it would mean that Russia has suffered more losses in fewer than 48 hours than the United States soldiers suffered during the 20-year long invasion of Afghanistan.” ) There were even several reports that Russian troop transports included mobile crematoria and a suggestion that this was to keep the number of casualties secret.

By Friday U.S. officials conceded that the Ukrainian defense was stronger than they had anticipated...

These Ukrainians soldiers are highly motivated in defending their homes. They have grown up in a free Ukraine, and many are combat veterans from fighting Russian rebels in Donbas.

Amen.

Better to kill them there than in Western Europe.

Perfect win win would be all the dirt on Biden’s etc is exposed and then Putin is toppled.

Putin’s instinct will be to do a mass killing to create panic and because he is in Berlin bunker mode. We need his troops to resist orders and the underlings close to Putin to briefcase bomb him to spare their nation.

Even the Germans now announced they were sending 1,000 anti-tank weapons and 500 stinger anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine.

There’s surveillance video of Russian soldiers looting a supermarket. I’m guessing that their supplies are running low.

“From its own stockpile, the German government will send 1,000 anti-tank weapons and 500 Stinger anti-aircraft defense systems to Ukraine. The government has also authorized the Netherlands to send Ukraine 400 rocket-propelled grenade launchers and told Estonia it ship over send nine howitzers.”

The Russian scum thugs are just fat targets. WHAT THE HELL WAS PUTIN THINKING?

So many of the Putin butt lickers here are repeating his propaganda that it is the Ukrainian leadership’s fault civilians are getting killed because they didn’t just quickly surrender.

My Mother was a missionary to the Ukrainians moved to Saskatchewan and Alberta Canada after the Soviet programs starved Ukraine, ironic since it was the bread basket of the soviet empire. If Russia has a claim to Ukraine it is mainly well it’s right next door and we can kick their asses. Never have those two countries been of one family.

One of the stories my mom told us kids was that due to the extreme cold in Canada the Ukranian kids would get old adult sized shoes and fill them with manure then sick their feet in them to mold to size and then let them freezE. Then they had insulated shoes.

Hopefully this time it will be Putin who steps in S*%T.

Pukin has two ways to go now. He can keep this pace and he becomes a pariah of the world. Or he steps it up and flattens Ukraine. Either way, he loses. I’m amazed at the way this is going. I also suspect that this is a distraction tactic. By whom? And why?

Ukraine is a corrupt state. Terrible leaders. Kleptocracy.

So is the United States.

What about the people?

Screw Putin and screw his apologists.

They picked the wrong place to invade.

This also shows is why every citizen here should own “military style” weapons. Well, the law-abiding responsible people. We can fight off any invasion or those who would seek to steal our liberty.

NRA should be running ads after this is over showing the citizens being armed is what - we hope - made the difference here.

Sundance at The Conservative Treehouse has a story that the Bidet regime may have goaded Putin to invade by telling China that Ukraine was joining NATO, knowing China would tell Putin.

If I had a choice between a supermarket and military rations, I would choose the supermarket every time.

Did she tell you Stalin had Ukrainians boiling their babies to eat them as the entire family starved to death? He murdered millions. Ukrainians haven’t forgotten. They’ll fight to every last man and woman.

Much of what is reported in the article may be true; but much is propaganda and wishful thinking.

These items have already been contested:

- The 13 soldiers on the island story.

- The sunflower seed story.

The amount of casualties on either side is very difficult to know at this point.

Truth is the first casualty of war.

Propaganda is used by every side in war.

However, it is true the Ukrainians are fighting for their lives, their homes, their country. The Russians, not so much.

I forget who said it, but

“It isn’t the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog”

applies, at. least to an unpredictable degree for the Russians, and they underestimated the Ukrainians.
