What he doesn't realize, in his self-satisfied but entirely misguided zeal for what he THINKS is intellectualism, is that liberal democracies ARE authoritarian - as we just saw in Canada. Our republic is the best system to prevent totalitarianism and authoritarianism, and people like Reich have been trying to circumvent it and undue it incessantly.
