‘Missile’ = any munition that is neither a fired projectile, nor a dropped bomb: ICBM or other rockets; shoulder fired munition; launched, as opposed to thrown, grenades...mortars are a grey area. Brit-speak, even a thrown or slung rock is a ‘missile’.
