Yeh, since when do the Chechens love Russia? Putin is playing a lot of mind games just like Trump does. There’s a lot going on with this Russian operation and it has nothing to do with occupying the Ukraine.

Putin was clever in Chechnya. He flattened the country, but then offered the people a very good deal. If anyone asks they have to say they are part of Russia, but defacto the Chechens operate as an independent nation.
It’s like how we won over Germany and Japan after WWII.
They may see a chance to kill Christians.
