If Zelensky is killed, he will likely rise well above Stepan Bandera in the pantheon of Ukrainian heroes. Bandera’s legacy is clouded by his tactical alliance* with the Nazis during their occupation. Bandera was assassinated after going into exile. Zelensky will have gone out fighting. Putin may call Zelensky a Nazi, but the fact is, as a Jew, Zelensky doesn’t make a compelling Nazi.
* For some strange reason, nobody faults Stalin for his tactical alliance with Hitler. Nobody forced Stalin’s hand - unlike Bandera’s situation, German troops did not control the land Stalin stood on.
Stalin wanted a war in the West so he could swoop in later, he punked Hitler.
