[The Economist and the corporate media cabal will cheer this on until the last Ukrainian is killed.]
If a company of Russian soldiers landed in your neighborhood and demanded that the residents surrender and acquiesce to being ruled from Moscow, would you greet them with flowers and cookies?

The Russians made it to Kiev in 3 days and when Ukraine falls the Russians will clamp down on Ukraine much more effectively than America could. The Russians don't play around with an occupation - when the locals start making trouble no Russian will be concerned about their feelings or if they are a protected class transsexual. They will just shoot them dead and call in the mobile crematoriums.

Way too many FReepers appear to be cheerleading for the Russians.
I’m not.
Here’s to hoping the Ukrainians prevail.
For those going on about Soviet prowess in WWII, I’ll remind you that France was once home to Napoleon Bonaparte, one of the greatest military
Minds of all time. From Bonaparte’s heyday in 1803 with victories all over the continent with his massive French army to 1870 when the French lost Paris to the new German nation was 67 years.
It has been 77 years since 1945.
Things do change with time.
