The IBM Selectric Typewriter was a work or pure mechanical genius. I remember the sensation the caused when they were introduced. Typing on one is pure pleasure, even though I hunt and peck to this day.

Later these cool machines appeared as the console keyboard/typewriter of the IBM SYS/360 computer.

Take care of your typewriter.

Yours was a “Daisy Wheel”, the replacement for the Selectric. It did well, but was not as long-lived as the Selectric. Electrostatic and ink jet printing replaced all of the mechanical beauties.
