Well in hindsight, it was pretty clear France had no chance. Outdated tactics from the First World War, thinking Hitler wouldn’t invade Belgium, to get around the Maginot Line.
They did think he would. That was the big blunder, advancing into Belgium to meet the Germans and weakening the center where the real attack was.
