Obesity kills many times the number of people worldwide every year than alcoholism. Using the WHO’s logic we should tax food much more than alcohol.

“if countries of the WHO European Region were to introduce a minimum level of 15% tax on the retail price per unit of alcohol, regardless of the type of alcoholic beverage, it would save 133,000 lives each year." 133,000? Not 133,001? Not 132,990? Lol.
Filthy moralist thieves. What hypocrisy.

Menthol flavored tobacco is on the verge of extinction. We just saw the draft rule in the last week or so. This was started under Trump when he raised the tobacco purchase age to 21. I don’t know why tobacco is available for sale anymore but I know it’s not a popular view. I am probably a prohibitionist at heart as well. I see too much damage done by alcohol.

Individual liberty comes as a condition of personal responsibility. Without the second you reserve the certain right to kill yourself with the first. That’s OK by me.

If they don’t want to mandate it, they want to ban it.

Prohibition on Cuban cigars has worked brilliantly.
Now we get to order them online from abroad—delivered to your door tax free.
If they were legal they would be taxed to the sky.
Remember—bootleg liquor would be tax free!
