A Ukrainian journalist, citing the country’s Interior Ministry, reported on Thursday that the country has distributed 10,000 automatic rifles to civilians since Russian leader Vladimir Putin ordered a full-scale assault on Ukraine.

“where there are 434 million firearms in civilian possession.”
Bwahahaha!
“It was one of the main reasons cited for the reprisals that are known as “Babi Yar”.”
It was an EXCUSE for murder. There were no reprisals known as Babi Yar: Babi Yar was just the ravine where the murders took place. There were murder units known as Einsatzgruppen that followed the Wermacht into Russia during Barbarossa. A lot of Einsatzgruppen were Lithuanian.
“Lots of ammo to be hauling around per citizen.”
All you need is enough to take their arms and ammo away from them. It was the whole concept behind the P38 Liberator in WWII.
They will drop a Russian daisy cutter on the city.
And the west will stare with their jaws dropping.
That isn’t 150k ground troops. Actual shooters is probably half that.
Lots of ammo to be hauling around per citizen.
They have 8 years of experience at war. A lot of Russian boys are about to needlessly die for Putin in Ukraine.
They just lay seige to Kiev until the will to fight is gone?
No, until Brandon and Germany force them to surrender.
Well I would say it somewhat expedited the process (2 days to kill 33,000+)
Good luck with that. The country is awash in weaponry from 8 years of war. Russian conscripts will not fight Putin’s war in Russia against determined locals. They’d rather be on their phones back home.
Putin overplayed his hand. He does not have an army of supermen and the Ukrainians are fighting on their land for national survival. There will be a lot dead Russians going home shortly.
Ukrainians will go guerilla on them, with IEDs, ambushes, assassinations, etc. It will be worse than what Russia suffered in Afghanistan. This will take on the elements of a civil war, which is the most brutal, most unforgiving, most cruel type of fight there i
Much worse. Because these are “brother” Ukrainians. Most every Russian conscript will be like “WTF” am I doing here. I want to go back home and use my phone.
Putinist Russia will never hand out rifles to citizens. Guaranteed.
I’ve been to Russia. Russian kids are like our kids. They want to spend all day on their phones. No freaking way they want to be getting shot at it Ukraine. Putin does not have a big enough army to occupy Ukraine. It’s that simple.
Worldwide. Anti communists should be chompin’ at the bit for an opportunity to go there as a volunteer sniper. Bring their own high-powered rifle. Nah, no skin in the game. They’d have to be older and ready to die. Affairs in order and no real family to leave behind. The world is full of these guys especially the moozlem community.
One universal caliber. I say .223. Cheap and popular. I remember the Russian ammo going for a cheap 21 cents per round.
That isn’t 150k ground troops. Actual shooters is probably half that.
And elite troops is an even smaller fraction. Go have a look at those Russians captured today. Slovenly and dirty “soldiers”. They look like street beggers. Most Russian conscripts will have no stomach for this fight. Putin has definitely overplayed his hand here.
Kiev and the north has always been the diversion to divert resources west.
More need to be captured and interviewed with smart phones. Ask them their name and home town. Then as them if they want to live.
I read somewhere else in the past that the US has over 250 million high-cap magazines.
The US military, National Guard, Police number about 2,500,000 men.
VS.
20,000,000 civilian semi-auto rifle owners, and maybe 75 million other firearm owners, and over 400,000,000 firearms out there. 250,000,000 high cap magazines in private hands.
And the government thinks they can “regulate” that?
10,000 rifles for the Ukrainians? POSH! Biden gave far more to the Taliban.
358,530 assault rifles left behind.
But no organization &even less leadership our own politicians would become collaborators so fast it would break the sound barrier😠!
