That will just push Russia into joint alliances with China.

Aren't they already there?

They almost did, which is why Putin’s Mini Me had to call in Russian troops.

You get points for “Ruthenia”.

I’d prefer “Galicia and Lodomeria”, but either way it’s the right idea.

You want to negotiate?

Fine.

Give back Ukraine, and we give back Belarus...deal?

There’s also a Galicia in Spain, so that’s why Ruthenia works better.

It always cracks me up when the Europeans refer to the “UN” like it was a real thing.

You’re an American?

Actually, the smart response to Putin's build up against Ukraine would have been a buildup against the Kaliningrad Oblast and Belarus.

We will probably have to do that anyway now.

“That will just push Russia into joint alliances with China.”

Russia and China are astute enough not to trust each other as allies. The Chinese will steal technology from the Russians and the Russians will sell drugs into China to weaken them.

“Frankly Ukraine is none of our business.”

Yeah, I keep hearing this particular line on FR quite often lately. And thinking like this has led to a war and a nice country populated by people who were working hard to leave communism behind them to participate in western society are now being murdered and enslaved.

All that matters here is that we keep oil and gas prices low and that we can buy cheap garbage at Wal Mart. So what if Russia slaughters some people on their way to rebuilding an empire that will predictably threaten us.

Nope, we have no moral reason to stand against oppression because apparently we have no morals and no interests aside from our own.

My neighbor doesn’t like me because she’s afraid of trees and I won’t cut down my 180 foot tall sequoia. She’s been a real pest and she’s even tried to sue me to force me to cut down the tree. What happens to her is none of my business.

But you know what? If she has a fire at her house I’ll still do my best to make sure she’s safe and then help put out the fire.

To do anything else would make me less of an American.

“Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits flame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because America is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, America will cease to be great.” ~ Alexis de Tocqueville

“illegitimate”

i don’t really know what so called rules are in place for this, but if I were the Russians, I would not tolerate a hostile state so close to my heartland. Every time in history this has happened, the Russians have subsequently been invaded.

Put another way, try putting nukes on Cuba and lets see how we react to that, rules be damned.

and with NATO breaking their word about no expansion (and that includes our US Govt), I wouldn’t trust the word of any Nato nation unless I, too, were working from a position of strength.

Aside from that, the greatest importance this has for us is the speed with which the Russians took the Ukes down. Our guys have been fighting bubba-Hoteps and ragheads for 20 years - we’re a loooong way from the time when we could fight a peer-to-peer war - and win. We should take this display, learn from it, Cowboy up and start TRAINING our MILITARY to WIN WARS and not dick around with this metro-sexical, diversity woke, gaydar shit.

Thank you Clinton, Obama, Bush 43 and now Biden for selling our secrets to China, for emasculating our military, for bankrupting our forces, hollowing out our Navy - and leaving us in such an endangered state.

Why, if one were to consider what an enemy could possibly achieve if he were bent on destroying our Nation -— could the actions of these four men be any different?

The ironic thing is I suspect Putin will off him to complete the takeover of Belarus.

Lukashenko has always made lots of promises to Putin he has failed to follow up on because he knows too close of an embrace will mean he and his oligarch buddies will be displaced.

Now he's swimming in the shark tank with a Great White.

When there began to be serious discussion of Ukrainian NATO membership, Putin had to move. Part of that conference’s agenda you speak of should have been the dissolution of NATO as well.

Trump avoided this current problem by telling Putin Ukraine will not be admitted to NATO. Senile Joe did not make that promise- in fact, he never even listened to the Russian’s objections. So, here we are.
Senile Joe is an idiot.
