Christie complaining about judges. Why are judges even having a hand in redistricting? That is something the federal Constitution prescribes to state legislatures. Even if some past state legislature had included the courts and the governor in the act, today’s legislature cannot be bound by that. A previous legislature cannot pass a law that strips away a Constitutional authority granted to the legislature.
