No shooting war in Ukraine- Dr Craig Roberts
USA Watchdog ^ | Feb 22 22 | Dr Paul Craig

Posted on 02/23/2022 12:46:26 PM PST by delta7

l Craig Roberts (PCR), former Assistant Treasury Secretary and international award-winning journalist, says the problems in Ukraine have been boiling for 8 years. Millions of Russian people were supposed to be protected in Eastern Ukraine under the so-called Minsk Agreement. It was supposed to stop the fighting, but the fighting never stopped. Now, Russia has recognized the breakaway regions and has a deal to protect the Russian people there. PCR explains, “Putin said we have to give them some kind of semi-autonomy. Let them have their own police in that area so they won’t be persecuted by the Ukrainian majority. Putin worked out this agreement, and Ukraine signed it. Germany and France guaranteed it, and the breakaway republics signed it, but we (U.S.) prevented Ukraine from complying with it. . . . The minute Russian troops moved in, the shelling stopped. It completely stopped, and it won’t start back.”

The non-stop propaganda by the mainstream media (MSM) makes people think we are at the brink of war with Russia. The Obama/Biden Administration is clearly pushing for war in the region, but PCR says “no way” and goes on to explain, “How are we going to fight them? NATO in a battle with Russia would not last five minutes. I am just talking about conventional war. NATO cannot mobilize sufficient military force to confront Russia. They just don’t have it. The force isn’t there, and Russia does not want Ukraine. . . . Ukraine is bankrupt. It’s full of neo-Nazis, it’s trouble. . . . There is a propaganda war going on . . . but there is not going to be a shooting war over Ukraine. Something really stupid would have to happen to cause that.”

What is stupid are the sanctions that are piling up on Russia that will only hurt the already financially troubled West. For example, according to PCR, “The German Chancellor says I am going to punish the Germans by turning off the pipeline because Russia recognized Donbass. It makes no sense. Why is he punishing Germans? Their energy prices go up. The banks who financed it fail. What if Putin says you don’t need that pipeline, we will turn off this other pipeline too. What happens in Europe? They are dependent on this energy. People will freeze to death in the winter. The factories will close down. The German Chancellor is an idiot. He’s punishing Germans, not Russians.”

PCR says inflation is high but not because of massive money printing by the Fed. Inflation is rising because of the extreme CV19 policies. PCR explains, “What’s the cause of the inflation? The lockdowns are the cause of the inflation and the stupid Covid policies. The lockdowns are the source of inflation. Why? They busted up all the supply chains. They stopped production. Production ceased. Factories closed. Restaurants closed. Everything closed. People lost their jobs. The Governor of California banned half of the American trucking fleet from entering California. . . . People lost their jobs but got a government check instead. The money did not decline, but supply did. So, prices went up, and that’s why we have inflation.”

PCR says look for the Fed to make yet another policy mistake that will wreck the economy. PCR says, “Most people don’t understand the Fed is not there to help the economy. It’s there to help the New York banks. . . . The Fed has never served the economy or the people. It’s always made policy mistakes, and it was a Fed policy mistake that caused the Great Depression.”

Nobody picked up this bombshell in Biden’s Executive Order a few days ago:
- Economic sanctions imposed, ending all US economic activity in Donetsk/Luhansk
- Affirmation that the sanctions do not affect Ukraine or Ukrainians.

Meaning?
Biden acknowledged Donetsk/Luhansk are no longer part of Ukraine, the people there are not Ukrainians.
Joe ceded part of Ukraine to Russia.

It’s not that Putin took it.
It’s that Biden agreed thereto.

For a full analysis chocked full of facts I highly recommend listening to the interview. I know there are a lot of Ukrainian ( bad Russia) supporters here, but they really need to research more for the Truth. Having lived and worked in the area I can be “ opinionated ”, however the facts are facts. That said, having been to Lithuania, and having relatives there I can opine about Senile Joe’s fear mongering in the Baltics as well.

About 12 years ago Roberts opinions about Bernanke’s quantitative easing would irritate the heck out of me but this piece I like.

Judging by the mail I have received, every one should listen to the interview. The truth will set you free, discernment in these times is a gift.
Please pass it along to counter demented Joe’s narrative.

For those to lazy to research the Ukrainian neo Nazi’s, and Ukrainian government’s involvement and enlistment of the Nazi’s into their military.

“ Human rights violations and war crimes
Reports published by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) have connected the Azov Battalion to war crimes such as mass looting, unlawful detention, and torture.[74][75] An OHCHR report from March 2016 stated that the organisation had

collected detailed information about the conduct of hostilities by Ukrainian armed forces and the Azov regiment in and around Shyrokyne (31km east of Mariupol), from the summer of 2014 to date. Mass looting of civilian homes was documented, as well as targeting of civilian areas between September 2014 and February 2015.[74]
Another OHCHR report documented an instance of rape and torture, writing:

A man with a mental disability was subject to cruel treatment, rape and other forms of sexual violence by 8 to 10 members of the ‘Azov’ and ‘Donbas’ (another Ukrainian battalion) battalions in August–September 2014. The victim’s health subsequently deteriorated and he was hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital.[75]
A report from January 2015 stated that a Donetsk Republic supporter was detained and tortured with electricity and waterboarding, which resulted in his confessing spying for pro-Russian militants.[75]

Ideology
Neo-Nazism

Emblem featuring a Wolfsangel and Black Sun, two symbols associated with Nazism
The Azov Battalion has been described as a far-right militia[33] with connections to neo-Nazism, with members wearing neo-Nazi and SS symbols and regalia and expressing neo-Nazi views.[76][77] The group’s insignia features the Wolfsangel[52][78][77][79][80] and the Black Sun,[78][81][82] two neo-Nazi symbols.

Azov soldiers have been observed wearing Nazi-associated symbols on their uniforms.[83] In 2014, the German ZDF television network showed images of Azov fighters wearing helmets with swastika symbols and “the SS runes of Hitler’s infamous black-uniformed elite corps”.[84] In 2015, Marcin Ogdowski, a Polish war correspondent, gained access to one of Azov’s bases located in the former holiday resort Majak; Azov fighters showed to him Nazi tattoos as well as Nazi emblems on their uniforms.[85] Shaun Walker writes in The Guardian that “many of [Azov’s] members have links with neo-Nazi groups, and even those who laughed off the idea that they are neo-Nazis did not give the most convincing denials”, citing swastika tattoos among the fighters and one who claimed to be a “national socialist”.[77] According to The Daily Beast, some of the group’s members are “neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and avowed anti-Semites”,[56] and

numerous swastika tattoos of different members and their tendency to go into battle with swastikas or SS insignias drawn on their helmets make it very difficult for other members of the group to plausibly deny any neo-Nazi affiliations.[86]
Lev Golinkin writes in The Nation that “Post-Maidan Ukraine is the world’s only nation to have a neo-Nazi formation in its armed forces.”[87] Michael Colborne of Foreign Policy has called it “a dangerous neo-Nazi-friendly extremist movement” with “global ambitions”, citing similarities between the group’s ideology and symbolism and that of the 2019 Christchurch mosque shooter, along with efforts by the group to recruit American right-wing extremists.[57]

A spokesman for the unit has said “only 10–20%” of its recruits are neo-Nazis, with one commander attributing neo-Nazi ideology to misguided youth.[16] Members of the unit have stated that the inverted Wolfsangel, rather than connected to Nazism, represents the Ukrainian words for “united nation”[77][46] or “national idea” (Ukrainian: Ідея Nації, Ideya Natsii).[77][80][a]

British political scientist Richard Sakwa writes that Azov’s founding member Andryi Biletsky, leader of the neo-Nazi Social-National Assembly (SNA) made statements about a “historic mission” to lead the “white races of the world in a final crusade for their survival ... a crusade against the Semite-led Untermenschen”, an ideology he traces to the National Integralism of 1920s and ‘30s.[88] Political scientist Ivan Katchanovski has compared the group’s ideology to that of Patriot of Ukraine, saying,

The SNA/PU [Patriot of Ukraine] advocates a neo-Nazi ideology along with ultranationalism and racism. The same applies to [...] members of the Azov battalion and many football ultras and others who serve in this formation.[89]
In June 2015, the Canadian defence minister declared that Canadian forces would not provide training or support to Azov Battalion.[90] In 2018, the U.S. House of Representatives also passed a provision blocking any training of Azov members by American forces, citing its neo-Nazi connections. The House had previously passed amendments banning support of Azov between 2014 and 2017, but due to pressure from The Pentagon, the amendments were quietly lifted.[7][91][92] This was protested by the Simon Wiesenthal Center which stated that lifting the ban highlighted the danger of Holocaust distortion in Ukraine.[92]

Nope. But anyone who followed real news which was hard to get, knew Russia would be invading. Weirdly, Twitter had the best reports, until Russia made them stop. The movement of Russian tanks and artillery was reported.

Thanks and bookmarked.

This puts a historical, political and internationally legal perspective on this. No matter what we think of Putin, the U.S. is handling this all wrong. For all of Biden's posturing, if NATO has no stomach for this and unwilling to pay any price, NATO will stay out of it. They aren't going to cut off their energy and damage their economies for the Ukraine.

Do remember, Trump told Putin he would NOT let Ukraine into NATO. Simple, both sides agreed, war averted. Senile Joe never even negotiated with Putin, Putin simply did not want a corrupted Ukraine into NATO thus further encircling Russia.

Do remember, Nobama let Putin simply take Crimea. It worked out fine tho, the Crimea under Russian control yielded a 71 percent leap in the economy, 350,000 people moved into Crimea, and was the fastest growing economy in the world.

Biden is a senile, corrupted, idiot. Sorry, just an observation.
