You really should just shut-up and act. You only show your ignorance when you speak out on current events.
We should not risk a single American’s life for Ukraine.
***We risk American lives over a much less strategic target such as Estonia. The difference is Estonia is in NATO and Ukraine aint. And if Ukraine were today admitted into NATO, we wouldn’t be risking American lives, any more than we’re risking American lives over Estonia.
I don’t care what name you have for that.
***The name is appeasement, Chamberlain.
I don’t care if 100% of Ukrainians want to be part of NATO.
***I do.
NATO is a failure.
***Then why is Putin studiously avoiding aggression towards NATO countries and focusing on the non-NATO country he has already annexed territory from? Because NATO is NOT a failure.
I’ll vote against any politician, Dem or GOP, that wants the US to defend Ukraine.
***I’ll vote against any politician, Dem or GOP, that wants the US to appease Pootypoot over Ukraine.
Ukraine is Europe’s security problem.
***Sudetenland was Europe’s security problem. It BECAME our problem. We coulda settled it when Hitler had a small army, instead it got settled by luzing tens of millions of people. Pull your head out.
Let them deal with it.
***Let them deal with it PROPERLY.
Since the Cold War ended, the US has become a cartoon of itself. We’ve become what we used to denounce.
***Whatever. Eyeroll.🙄
These nation-building efforts
***This is NOT nation building. Ukraine is already a nation. They’re being bullied by Russia, who is already a nation. Completely different circumstances than nation-building.
are pathetic, the exact thing that the Founding Fathers rejected as an element of US foreign policy.
***They had their own nation to build. Calling this a nation-building exercise is just a gigantic red herring.
Maybe Germany and France can do more than send helmets, if they care so much about Ukraine.
***I agree with that sentiment. The issue we are discussing is what WE should do. Trump tried to hold NATO feet to the fire, getting them to pay their bills. That was the right thing to do. And it is also the right thing to do that we would allow Ukraine into NATO as a new dues-paying country, and the right thing to do alongside that is to set up some programs for excising all the corruption in that country.
You compare this to Hitler, I offer up the assertion that this is more like Turkey invading Northern Cyprus.
***Did Northern Cyprus apply to be in NATO? Did 69% of their citizenry want to be in NATO? Did Turkey annex Northern Cyprus?
Foreign minister: Turkey could annex north by 2023
https://cyprus-mail.com/2020/11/16/foreign-minister-turkey-could-annex-north-by-2023/
“Apart from our readiness to resume talks, our reaction focuses on using all means available to the foreign ministry, particularly in the EU, despite inherent weaknesses due to member-states’ interests with Turkey,” the minister added.
Make your point. Why do you think this situation is a better analogy than Sudetenland?
Did Northern Cyprus apply to be in NATO? Did 69% of their citizenry want to be in NATO?
Biden Admin will destroy evidence of Ukraine corruption, not lessen it, because the Biden family itself is deeply involved in it.
I have zero confidence in the US President or any of the other NATO leaders.
There is no possibility of a good outcome with the current leadership in place in the US and in Europe.
The last thing the US needs is to increase its international entanglements. If Europe needs Ukrainian and Russian gas, let them resolve the issue. We have nothing to gain except another misspent trillion or two in debt.
Biden Admin will destroy evidence of Ukraine corruption, not lessen it, because the Biden family itself is deeply involved in it.
***I don’t care that much. At least if they join NATO then there will be other NATO nations to contend with when investigating the corruption.
I have zero confidence in the US President or any of the other NATO leaders.
***Then it makes sense to take the path of most tried and true appeasement: Accepting Ukraine into NATO. It was the weakness of western leaders that led to the all-out war against Hitler when it coulda been nabbed in the bud.
There is no possibility of a good outcome with the current leadership in place in the US and in Europe.
***There’s plenty of possibility. Just not enough of them.
The last thing the US needs is to increase its international entanglements.
***I disagree. Doing the right thing will always be right.
If Europe needs Ukrainian and Russian gas, let them resolve the issue.
***Let the right resolution be worked out regardless of who needs what gas.
We have nothing to gain except another misspent trillion or two in debt.
***We have a dues-paying ally to gain. We have a multi-million-lives war to be averted. We have healthy choices. We have an opportunity to wave around a piece of paper and say “peace in our time”, which you appeasers are so desirous of doing.
I disagree strongly.
Letting Ukraine into NATO would be an expansion of a fading empire.
Again, I have no power to decide these things, so my opinion is meaningless.
However, I will vote & campaign against any politician who wants to let Ukraine into NATO, or go to war on behalf of Ukraine.
Does anyone here ever remember her being right about anything?
I disagree strongly. Letting Ukraine into NATO would be an expansion of a fading empire.
***It would be allowing a country to join whom 69% of the population want to join, going against a fading empire of Russia which has the same size economy as Italy.
Again, I have no power to decide these things, so my opinion is meaningless.
***We will all keep that in mind for future interactions.
However,
***Classic yahbut.
I will vote & campaign against any politician who wants to let Ukraine into NATO, or go to war on behalf of Ukraine.
***I will vote & campaign against any politician who wants to let Russia keep annexing Ukraine, or Appease on behalf of Russia, like Chamberlain did with Hitler.
***Classic yahbut.
No, because I didn’t concede to any of your arguments.
I don’t care if 100% of Ukraine wants into NATO.
Or 115% if the Bidens are doing the counting.
The idea that any American should be at risk because of Ukraine is ludicrous.
No, because I didn’t concede to any of your arguments.
***Quoting you, “you have no power to decide these things, so your opinion is meaningless.”
I don’t care if 100% of Ukraine wants into NATO.
***Why wouldn’t you care? They’re about to get their asses kicked, they would be a good ally, but you don’t care.
Or 115% if the Bidens are doing the counting.
***The polls were conducted before Biden usurped the office.
The idea that any American should be at risk because of Ukraine is ludicrous.

is ludicrous.
Wrongly or not, those countries are members of NATO. We have a defensive treaty with them. We should not have let several of them in, but it’s too late.
We shouldn’t further extend our military. We should scale back the empire, over time and as treaties expire, unless Europe is willing to step up and pay and take responsibility for crises in their geographical region.
Wrongly or not, those countries are members of NATO.
***Which is why we should be waving a piece of paper around saying “peace in our time”, with a NATO membership for Ukraine on that paper.
We have a defensive treaty with them.
***And all it takes is a defensive treaty with Ukraine to make this problem go away.
We should not have let several of them in, but it’s too late.
***NATO is obviously working because even Pootypoot, who is a bully, isn’t invading NATO countries like Estonia and Lithuania.
We shouldn’t further extend our military.
***We SHOULD further extend NATO and make Europe pay for it.
We should scale back the empire,
***NATO is not an empire.
over time and as treaties expire, unless Europe is willing to step up and pay
***There is a tiny bit of wisdom here but unfortunately you surrounded it by bullsnot. It kills the taste of your wisdom.
and take responsibility for crises in their geographical region.
***You have no basis for your assertion. My basis is that pootypoot aint invading lithuania, Estonia, or other rinkydink countries because he knows it would trigger the joint defense clause. He IS invading Ukraine because they DON’T have it. He would scamper away if they joined NATO tomorrow.
That women has an obsession with masks. Or more specifically, people being forced to wear masks.
She’s unbalanced, as are most leftists.
***Which is why we should be waving a piece of paper around saying “peace in our time”, with a NATO membership for Ukraine on that paper.
Too late for that now.
Anyway, it didn’t work the last time someone intoned “peace in our time”.
They could sign the paperwork tonight, halt the invasion that’s taking place. It is not too late.
Anyway, it didn’t work the last time someone intoned “peace in our time”.
***You obviously are not getting the point, which is that appeasement doesn’t work. Europe kept appeasing HItler and all it did was whet his appetite, until Poland was invaded and it triggered an automatic alliance of warfare. If such an auto-trigger were in place at Sudetenland, we woulda kicked Hitler back to the Rhine in no time. Notably, Russia invaded Poland simultaneously from the east, thereby being guilty of starting world war 2 — so many people simply overlook that salient fact.
*woman
🤦🏻♀️ I hate when people mix up “woman” and “women” and here I went and did it.
