I don’t think there’s a virus. I think it’s an attempt to access private data.
Also, it’s no longer in Google Play’s store.
Since Truth isn’t available on Google play android platforms yet, anything you receive from them are going to be fake.
I heard It won’t be on Android till next month.
You do realize that a very large number of Apple IT employees own Android phones because they don’t want Gates spying on their activities, don’t you?

There are NO SAFE tech companies right now HOWEVER Google is the worst!! I was an absolute Amazon junkie closed my account a year and a half ago and NEVER LOOKED BACK!! Elon Musk needs to invent a Musk phone!! Peter Thiel is another that might want to do this HOWEVER Musk has the satellites in place already!!
google would be involved until it became a PR burden in my humble opinion.
Never said that Android is safe. It’s just a better option than the Chinese manufactured Apple crap, in my humble opinion.

Did you read the article? The app is NOT tied to the actual Trump platform. Downloading this would do nothing to it.
