Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced that Chicago will drop its mask mandate for most settings, as well as its proof-of-vaccination mandate at restaurants, bars and other indoor establishments, at the end of the month, reflecting a renewed hope for normalcy in the city as COVID-19 cases continue dropping from alarming highs.
The moves bring Chicago in line with Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s announcement earlier this month that he will lift his mask requirement for most indoor public places at the end of February should the state’s most recent and largest COVID-19 surge continue to subside.
Cook County’s public health department, which covers most of the county’s suburbs, announced it would follow suit, lifting its general mask mandate and proof-of-vaccine requirement on Monday, as well as its requirement that employees of establishments such as restaurants and gyms be vaccinated or submit to weekly COVID-19 testing.

It looks like Justine Truduh may be the last petty tyrant standing on the mandate issues. He is going to look a complete fool when he caves in to reality and drops federal Canadian mandates after all he has put the truckers and their supporters through.

You would think that as a resident of LA county I would have a better idea of when the county will end this idiocy, but I’m sorry to say the people in charge here are just as idiotic and insane as the douche nozzle in charge of Canada.

More likely their projected tax receipts...people are either going to the collar counties to shop and eat out, or simply doing neither.
I can report that I was out and about in both Chicago and suburban restaurant districts during the midday lunch period a few weeks ago...from both street traffic and what I could see through the windows, things were D-E-A-D.
It is now this friday! The gov’t still wants stores to ask for proof of vaccinations... We’ll see.
