“Damn Amish attacking minorities again.” according to ro_dreaming.

I wonder why the Amish are held in such low esteem by some readers and writers of ‘Free Republic’. Never would I equate them with “Blacks” as these two Negro women are called.

Living in rural PA I meet and talk with many Amish people. There may be some who act badly but I haven’t even heard about that. I would encourage no one to use the term “Amish” in a derogatory way. It is unbecoming to the Amish and untrue for the most part as it is reported by the “whites”.

Well, I’ve always been thinking that referring to “You-know-whom” as “Amish” is meant in a sarcastic manner.

Afer all, the Amish people are known to be religious, law-abiding, well-behaved and generally having very strong family values. I cannot praise their virtues too much.

The word “Amish” is a substitute as the news won’t really cover the issue if it is black people that commit the crime and are caught - down the memory hole it goes.
