Canada handed over to one of the poorest leaders it’s ever had
The reality is that the protest movement, while loud and well-organized, does not have very much public support. These events have polarized opinion even more than was the case before the convoys. But the problem is that the convoys did not necessarily do everything that their potential supporters might have wanted them to do. Blocking the borders to the flow of trade was not a well-thought-out strategy nor is it what most conservatives would support. Just swearing at reporters instead of engaging and perhaps offering news conferences for them to ask questions was not a good tactic either.
Just because I agree with random citizen X that the mandates are not good and we should end them does not mean I agree with X on every single opinion that person holds. At the same time, just because I give twenty bucks to their cause does not mean I endorse every opinion they hold, every action they may take in the future, etc.
As to Canada being “done” well it has been done for quite a long time in my view, it has always been too far to the left and too anti-American for my liking, too open to communist propaganda, too naive about guilt trips of the aboriginal people, too stupid to know when they had it good and should have left good enough alone. This is nothing very new or different, Canadian society has been like this all along, lots of social ostracism and blacklisting for those who do not go along with the majority opinion.
You can only kill something that is alive, not a corpse.
