The agency has withheld critical data on boosters, hospitalizations and, until recently, wastewater analyses.
For more than a year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has collected data on hospitalizations for Covid-19 in the United States and broken it down by age, race and vaccination status. But it has not made most of the information public.
When the C.D.C. published the first significant data on the effectiveness of boosters in adults younger than 65 two weeks ago, it left out the numbers for a huge portion of that population: 18- to 49-year-olds, the group the data showed was least likely to benefit from extra shots, because the first two doses already left them well-protected.
The agency recently debuted a dashboard of wastewater data on its website that will be updated daily and might provide early signals of an oncoming surge of Covid cases. Some states and localities had been sharing wastewater information with the agency since the start of the pandemic, but it had never before released those findings.
Two full years into the pandemic, the agency leading the country’s response to the public health emergency has published only a tiny fraction of the data it has collected, several people familiar with the data said.
Much of the withheld information could help state and local health officials better target their efforts to bring the virus under control. Detailed, timely data on hospitalizations by age and race would help health officials identify and help the populations at highest risk. Information on hospitalizations and death by age and vaccination status would have helped inform whether healthy adults needed booster shots. And wastewater surveillance across the nation would spot outbreaks and emerging variants early.

It’s surprising that the NYT reported on this.
your nytimes webarchive link is unnecessary

cdc withholding data for fear that the information will be misused.
data is data, not releasing data is misuse of data.
The US centric doom and gloom COW stoped giving milk for headlines.
This is the same excuse as Scotland ending reporting on the jabs
Pfizer needed 75 years to gives us their data too
Even the ardent supporters of these short lasting experimental jabs must have a slight discomfort in the destruction of the scientific method and the data just two years ago these entities would have felt compelled to release
Also, what happened to the pandemic of unjabbed. Are we to believe if this was still so, it wouldn’t be in the news
Th3y are losing readers, so,they are forced to branch out by printing the truth every nkw and again likley.. they also, likely, are seeing a trend of folks wantingmto, wanting to, the pandemic behind them, so now they Wil. Print negative stories aboutmthe cdc hoping people, will read their paper again.
The scientific method doesn't include the step -- "leave stuff out." Political science does.
“And wastewater surveillance across the nation would spot outbreaks and emerging variants early.”
So now the Karens want the gov’t. to monitor our shit. SMH. I have a hard time believing that the poop patrol is going to spot an outbreak faster than the hospitals. If nobody is going to the ER’s, then there is no crisis even if there is an outbreak of something.

Thanks for the link !
I saved the webarchive in case the info in that link you posted disappears.
Good point.
“I saved the webarchive in case the info in that link you posted disappears.”
I had trouble sharing the webarchive link as a FB post; it kept saying it was not yet in the archive.
So I parsed the direct nytimes link out of the link you provided and found it worked as a FB post so should work here.
Charge them all with theft of citizens' property.
"But it's 80% of the data."
"Yeah but it doesn't conform to our pre-conclusion, so we're keep it out, see? It's outlier."
Fauchi and his wife back in 2015 did not want to give out equal medical treatment to those in less developed countries. They would get less.
Note they themselves have not gotten any disease they work with like the chinese virus. They know inexpensive drugs will keep them safe while the drugs they push are killing people worldwide.
This for some twisted medical experiment.
Follow the science as long as it’s only the data we want to show you.
All medicines have side effects but it must be noted that HCQ and Ivermectin have a very very low side effect profile.
When prescribing a doctor must look at the risk benefit ratio. Without all the data across all age groups by adverse effects a physician can not make a good judgement call on benefit verses risk.
We have fairly good data on the risks of covid by age group. It kills the old, the obese, the diabetics, the cardio compromised, the immune compromised etc at a significant rate perhaps worthy of taking a risky vaccination, perhaps. We have therapies for those infected but the CDC, NIH, this administration and the media have tried to destroy confidence in these therapies. These drugs worked in India, Japan, etc. They work here also.
The young are not in a high risk group. Healthy children have almost zero risk if they contract covid. Why are we giving them the vaccine? It is not a vaccine a year ago by definition of what a vaccine is. The CDC has changed the definition of what a vaccine is. Thus the non vaccine is a vaccine today.
Why is the CDC hiding by age group, some information on adverse reactions to the covid shot? What is it that they do not want us to know?
