Paid almost 4 bucks for HALF a loaf of pumpernickel bread from the bakery.

My monthly “big shopping” used to result in a brimming cartful for $200 or so. Now, $200 fills barely 3/4 of it.

Same here. I love pumpernickel.............. but not at that price.

I can remember my parents being shocked that $10 worth of groceries could fit into only two shopping bags. Of course, this was in the early 50s.
