Here’s another problem.
Even if the cruise line is only recommending muzzles, there’s no guarantee that muzzled patrons will be as tolerant of the unmuzzled.
Who wants to risk a lot of money on a vacation that might get you hassled repeatedly while you try to relax.
I was wondering why shareholders weren’t streaming bloody murder..

Nuff said.
So the un-vexxed still can’t take a cruise, even if they are willing to wear the “Scarlet Letter”, uh...I mean a facemask?
“Carnival Cruise Line to end mask mandates for guests...but guests must remain in cabins for the entire trip.”
(Babylon Bee’s next article.)
Look at the bright side. That lunatics are choosing to wear a uniform makes the going forward easier.
They’ve still got that vaccine thing goin’ on, though, I expect.
Sicon wrote: “Yes, for anyone over 5 years old, jab required. So they’re still requiring something for absolutely no reason.”
940,000 dead American’s is reason enough.
“I will never set foot on a Carnival ship.”
Ditto. Sailed on Carnival once in the ‘80s. When I helped at the Buffalo Rescue Mission the food was better and the people were more couth.
When wearing a mask becomes a sign that the mask-wearer is not vexxationated, it will no longer be a way to signal one’s virtue.
In such circumstances, NOT wearing a mask will need to become the hot new way to signal one’s virtue.
There’s a problem with that, though.
In circumstances in which mask-wearing has been or has become optional, not wearing a mask has been a popular way to signal to ithers that you are one of those whom Hillary would say are in the “Basket if Deplorables”. In other words, it has become a tool for vice signaling.
Either mask-wearing needs to become obligatory for the unvexxationated, on pain of jail, or the whole mask-wearing trend, having had all the virtue-signaling power milked out of it over the past two years, needs to be airbrushed from history.
Omg. Still believing THAT lie, too?
You’re just not reachable. And pretty sad to boot
I think you’re all reading too much into this. Either you have the vaxx and want to go on a cruise -or you don’t.
Ever hear those conversations of how ‘ordinary people’ could become Gestapo agents stopping people in the street, examining papers and READING INTO everything to determine whether or not they were suspect? Same mentality here.
Respect Liberty.
When the side that claims to follow medical science, debunks medical science, it’s time to reject everything they do. Safe to say that today, anyone still choosing to wear a mask for viral protection is psychologically damaged. Any need to conform to their dictates makes that person equally damaged.
Let’s just say, for the sake of argument, that a law is passed in the U.S. requiring the unvexxationated to wear masks.
They would need, then, to pass another law to make it illegal for the vexxationated to wear a mask.
Otherwise those who did not want to be vexxationated, but became vexxationated in order to be allowed to continue earning a living or to facilitate travel plans, will have a virtue-signaling option: Wearing a mask as a way to “identify” as unvexxationated.
This will not do! Call the schoolmaster!
I was on Carnival a few weeks ago for ‘Shiprocked’. The crew only tried to enforce masks in the buffet restaurant area.
I forgot to add to my scenario:
The only way to maintain the strength and purity of non-masking as a signal of virtue (virtue signaling) is to make damn sure nobody who IS masking can be viewed as or can reasonably claim credit for doing so as a symbol of vice (vice signaling).
In such a scenario, the weakminded among us who were masking because they considered it a valid means for avoiding COVID infection would clearly need to be sent to camp for re-education.
Floating Petrie dishes.
100%
“choose to wear a mask to protect against C19?”
Only retards think a mask protects them.
A critical problem is that cruise lines are in financial hardship such that any money given to them for a reservation could be lost as they file bankruptcy.
“Masks recommend but not required? How dumb. You either do it or you don’t.”
Legal talk...people will get the sniffles, but at least they can claim that masks were ‘recommended’.
