Stefanik joins McCarthy in endorsing Cheney's Republican primary challenger

House Republican Conference chair Elise Stefanik of New York endorsed Wyoming Republican Rep. Liz Cheney's primary opponent, Harriet Hageman, on Friday.

The endorsement illustrates a further shift away from Cheney by the House GOP Caucus, after House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., threw his endorsement behind Hageman Thursday.

"I’m proud to endorse Harriet Hageman in her race to unseat Liz Cheney," Stefanik said in a press release exclusively obtained by Fox News Digital. "House Republicans were ready for a change when I took over as Conference Chair, and it’s resoundingly clear that Wyoming families are too."

Stefanic is great. I follow her on Twitter, or at least my cat does. She’s part of Cats of Twitter.

Dick Cheney turned out to be a major disappointment, sticking by his traitor daughter and backstabbing our great President at every turn.

Stefanik is a YGL of the World Economic Forum and a protege of Paul Ryan!

Dick Cheney is a member of the Bush Crime Family of good standing and has always been a grifter that puts America last.

I predict Lizard C will follow Flake’s example and retire rather than face humiliation at the polls.

The only way Liz Cheney gets back in office is if the republicans do something stupid in the primary like run multiple people and split the vote.

As stupid as that would be, it's entirely within their history to do something like that and I'm sure that's what Cheney is banking on.

My brother lives in WY and tells me that Liz Cheney is toast there.

I hope so, but -- last I heard (January 2022, I think) -- Cheney hauled in a ton of $$ in donations (probably mostly from democRATs), and Hageman only raised a few thousand dollars. Hope I'm wrong...

If the GOP closes their primary you will know they have had it with Liz.

My prediction:

She will drop out citing violent threats from Trump supporters to her and her family. She will provide no proof, but she will say that for safety she needs to move. She will end up on a few corporate boards for defense contractors etc.

Even a protege of Paul Ryan has the sense to figure out which way the wind is blowing now.

Liz was not as bad as say Arlen Specter, switching parties and REALLY blowing with the wind. Liz is guilty of representing a state redder than she is. More of them should pay over policy as well as the backstabbing.

Liz was worse, betraying her constituents who put her in office.

Arlen Specter had the decency to hold town hall meetings, everywhere in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and doing it regularly. I attended two of them.

Yeah, he was your typical RINO who was addicted to power but I will always be grateful to him for giving us the best supreme court justice on the bench, Judge Clarence Thomas.

Rather than retiring gracefully, Specter was retired by voters in the Democrat primary. He was dead just over a year after leaving office. I look at him as more pathetic than traitorous. Not even in the same bottom feeding class as Cheney.

That’s nice. Are they fundraising for her? How about the DCCC? Is McCarthy allowing them to give money to Cheney? Money talks. Swamp gas walks.
