I remember “diversity training” in 1975 after a racial incident at Minot AFB ND. I remember Commanders call in 1978 saying we all be out of oil in a few years.
I recognized it all as BullSchiff.
I did my time and got the Heck out.
I figured anytime they start using the military for social engineering, you the soldier, airman, or sailor are screwed.

“I did my time and got the Heck out.”

You sound a lot like my father.

He joined the US Navy in 1962, he traveled around the Pacific for two years, being a “Lazamataz type” whenever he hit port.
In 1964 he volunteered for Vietnam but his rank wasn’t high enough.

When his enlistment came up, they offered him higher pay, but he walked. Some of his buddies started razzing him about
not continuing his service, his response was:

“Look, I had two years to make Fleet Admiral, it hasn’t worked out.”
“Bye.”
