We have a very good friend who played for Ohio State and was a third round pick years ago, he is now retired. We love him and have never talked race in all these years, never even thought of it. Just recently he and my husband were gently talking politics and as it turns out, he hates what has happened to the NFL, he deplores wokeism, voted for Trump, and he claims many of the black players feel the same way he does,

There is hope.

I don’t doubt it. I know there are plenty of black players who understand the inherent poison in the Leftist politics they see that will only make their lives harder, not easier.

I am sure they are the ones that hear some other player or pundit liken professional sports to modern slavery and roll their eyes in anger thinking “I make more that nearly every other citizen in this country in a single year, and my career opens up all kinds of other opportunities for me when I stop playing...how is THAT ‘slavery’...?”
