Yea, Ukraine is not valuable to be in NATO.
***Sudetenland wasn’t particularly valuable but if we had dealt properly with the local bully Hitler instead of appeasing him, we mighta saved 150 million lives. Those lives were certainly valuable.

It works as an escalation point.
***And as a de-appeasement point. Learning from history.

Russia should put Nukes in Cuba and see what the response would be.
***They already DID, triggering the Cuban Missile Crisis. Learning from history.

Or better yet have an agreement with Mexico that guarantees the safety of Mexicans along the southern boarder under the same policy (an attack against one Mexican is an attack on Russia). What could go wrong?!?
***Your analogy goes off into the weeds because the vast majority of Mexicans wouldn’t want to join the Russian Federation or whatever the Soviet mask is called now.

Of course I know what Russia did in Cuba which is why I used the example which seems to have gone over your head. The U.S had a very strong reaction. I would expect no less from Russia.

Im sure the polls that you focus on are incredibly accurate in regards to what Mexico might think of Russia or what Uranians might think of NATO but i’ll suggest a poll based policy is completely foolish in this case. Not to mention much of the country also wants closer ties with Russia. Just like West Virginia and California differ greatly on issues so does east/west Urakine. Nevertheless, if they wish to distance themselves with Russia or not is not my business. I don’t know what they want and I suspect you don’t either. Border country with Russia in NATO is a bad idea and would never find my support. It’s not appeasement at all. It’s that I fully agree with Russia in not having a trip wire on their border. Another nation that won’t meet their 2% bare minimum spending is not a winning strategy for the treasury either.
