haha...as long as you don’t dissent against Putin, you are fine in Russia.

He jails dissidents, he has journalists beaten up, he poisons his political opponents like Navalny. Putin is a common thug. If the idiot invades Ukraine, the Russian people will suffer badly. Lack of access to the Western banking system is economic suicide for Russia.

All true, and also Ukraine is none of our business, nor in our national interest. Putin is a Kleptocrat.

Ukraine is also none of Russia’s business.

If Russia invades Ukraine, we can simply turn his economy to mush.

I don’t care about Ukraine. Russia could have been an ally, but we the neo-coms pushed them into an alliance with China.

The Russian and Chinese alliance goes back many years, as does Russia's support of countries like Iran and North Korea. Biden did not "push Russia into an alliance with China," neither did Obozo (who famously told them to relax because he'd have more flexibility to bend over for them during his second turn) or George W. Bush who saw a "soul" in Putin's lifeless KGB eyes.

Not likely.

He is looking for a straight line to the Crimea. Right now they have to go around to get to the Crimea.

Russia is NOT the USSR.

Russia today is an even more hardcore KGB state than it has been in decades. Putin has appointed KGB/FSB members to something like 60-70% of government posts that can be appointed. KGB/FSB members operate major swathes of the economy and have a presence in almost every media operation in the country. The Russian government even controls the Russian Orthodox Church, with a majority of ROC hierachy having KGB files, and with Archbishop Kirill as a card carrying KGB agent whose career consists of spreading Liberation Theology thru the World Council of Churches. Former KGB have stated "it's like the Soviet Union never fell." Russia today supports all of our Communist enemies world over, as well as countries like Iran and Syria over and against our allies.

What exactly is the difference between Russia today and what it was before other than the veneer?

I’m very worried about the threat of a nuclear conflict. Any sort of conflict would be disastrous. This is like the lead up to the disgraceful NATO attack on Libya - Obama’s masterpiece. Except this time, we are taking on forces which can fight back.

Our Foreign Policy can summed up as, “Let’s you and him fight!”

Biden’s policies are financing Russia’s military buildup.

Before Biden, Russia wasn’t shipping any real amount of oil to the US of A.

Now…Russia is in top 5 importers.

Let’s Go Branden

“So the US and NATO policy of 2008 triggered a crisis in 2021-2022?”

Absolutely.

SINCE 2008, with pronouncements since.

https://www.nato.int/cps/en/natohq/topics_37750.htm

“You promised us in the 1990s that [NATO] would not move an inch to the East. You cheated us shamelessly,” Putin said at a news conference in December.

“Seemingly conflicting comments from U.S. officials and Gorbachev made years later do not help clear this up. (Former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said as recently as Friday that “nobody was even imagining Czechoslovakia or Poland or Hungary at that time.”)”

https://www.npr.org/2022/01/29/1076193616/ukraine-crisis-russia-history-nato-expansion

I am certain Russia will fight an existential, nuclear war over Ukraine. A million Russian soldiers are buried there.

I am equally convinced the US has absolutely no national interests there.

What kind of fools want to push that risk?

The head of state of Russia is a more honorable man than the Former Vice President of the US, and his number one main spokeswoman is a more truthful and honorable person than all of our Republican leadership.

Can we trade, say, Nancy and Ginger and about a dozen others for her? Sorry, I had to ask.

Actually no, not often at all. Actually seldom.

Why, does it sound like it?

Because Crowder is the only one I know that refers to him as the “Former Vice President of the US”

Well, honestly the guy I heard it from was some guy - just some regular guy - who was a guest on Tucker and probably did in fact get the expression from Crowder so I shouldn't mind giving him credit for it.

BTW have you taken notice of Maria Zakharova? She's the type I would hire if I were Vlad, in all deference here at home, mind you.
