Obviously racist against Irish Catholics./s
I don’t follow sports at all, ever. I’ll take your word for it, and wonder why the team is making a big deal of it, which is what I wondered from the getgo.
Really strange. Plenty of Jews who try to hide their Jewishness, getting nose jobs, even putting the tip back on, and here you have some Brit football fans who allegedly wear the appellation “Yid” proudly, and the team has a problem with it. If I were a Hotspur, I’d respect and treasure a fan who goes that far.
Maybe the organization believes that the use of “Yids” by their fans is losing them the allegiance of anti-Semites.

Gotta have support of the anti-Semites and racists. They’re so ubiquitous, you can’t make a buck without them./s
Jeremy Corbyn was Labor Party Secretary. It’s possible there are enough anti-semites (including Muslims) in the market to get the attention of the team’s advertising department.
OK. So they’re avoiding alienating them. How do you cater to anti-Semitic fans or customers, though? I can see the ad copy now.
Are you sure there’s no blood in that matza cracker? Buy hot cross buns instead!
Bank by us. No international conspiracies, just good, honest Aryan bankers. Arel Finance. We’ll hire no Yids.

Let us put the tip back on for you. Sheigatz Cosmetic Surgery.
The way things have been going in the world, we may see this kind of thing turn up in a year or so.
