James Craig will have a hard time in November. When it comes to a Governors race blacks have a hard time being seen as executive material. A police chief follows the rule of written law. A senator is partisan-they’re supposed to be. There. may be just enough lingering racism in Michigan where they won’t pull the lever for him.
It reminds me of Herman Cains’ run for the senate (2004). He lost the primary to Issakson. He would have won in November and given the GOP a good black representative-not window dressing. Then there’s T.W. Shannon Oklahoma’s house speaker-not good enough to beat Lankford in the primary for Tom Coburn’s seat(2014). Paleface Lankford beat him by 20 points.
Opportunities. Are we proud on Issakson and Lankford? We could have been very proud of our black candidates even if they went wobbly from time to time. Tell me Lankford/Issakson never did. If Republicans can’t pull the lever for a good black candidate what makes you think the ALL the voters of Michigan will?
My 2+ cents.
John James?
They perfected The Michigan Steal in the summer of 2018. That's how Wretched, NaziNessel and Comrade Benson got in.
That's also why you saw the yuge "winning" vote count in 2020 compared to the other two "slim margin" states from 2016 - Wisconsin and Pennsyvania.
And the Michigan GOPee is in on it, because they know they'll win always seats at the state level in the Michigan House and Michigan Senate, and probably retain control of those two bodies.
But of course they "won't have any power", so you have to vote for them next time...
