Why would they do that? There isn’t war now. As a neutral country, why evacuate your embassy? Surely, the diplomats expect to take risks like that as part of their jobs.

If captured they may even drink vodka and play cards while making fun of western wokeism with their new Russian overlords
Ask yourself this: Why evacuate only Kyiv if the threat is from Russia? Why not evacuate Moscow at the same time? It looks like the embassy in Minsk was down to essential workers when Russia was deployed there for training (which was characterized as invasion prep), but Minsk didn't evacuate. This is all very unusual, and I'm sure there are people with a lot of experience in embassy stuff that would recognize just how unusual it is.
