When I first heard the soundbite yesterday I wondered if this was purely to cover their tails at the White House so unlike the Kabul panic scenes the new American refugees over in Ukraine could be told “We told you so. Told you to leave.”

So roughly 30,000 Americans should set up flights to leave. Or maybe buses and trains. Or rental cars.

Jake Sullivan wouldn’t give any numbers re Americans in Ukraine.

After the Sullivan presser, Fox News Jennifer Griffin said 7000 Americans registered with State Dept and 25,000 (many dual-citizens) who are not registered.

Of that number, she doesn’t know how many people have departed.
