I don’t like RCV but I do like runoffs. Would Bill Clinton have won a runoff in 1992? We’ll never know for sure, but I doubt it.

We’ve debated that for years, Auh2o and I think it would have been a very close race. 1996 as well in the EC with Dole getting the Lion’s share as opposed to ‘92 when Clinton would have got some (and many would not have voted).

92’ exit polls had Perot second choice even, but I don’t buy that.

1992 would have been really close, with IA and CT being <1% races in either direction, and if Bush carried both he’d get to 270.

1996 would have been more uphill for Dole, but that year practically all Perot voters would have chosen Dole over Clinton (they’re the guys who had voted GOP in 1994). It all would have come down to PA, but I think that Clinton would have held on there.
