Now they need to block the Peace Bridge from Fort Erie to Buffalo.

Keep in mind that the most densely populated part in Canada is right around Toronto. The two main routes from the US into Canada are between Buffalo/Niagara Falls and Detroit/Port Huron.
Cut those two points off and the biggest city in Canada starts to run out of food in a week.
