An aside, it is hilarious how attempting to ‘restrict discussions about sexual orientation and gender identity’ in schools outrages the left at the very time they’re in the process of criminalizing political speech they dislike nationwide.

There is a powerful homo lobby behind this. Of course perverts will position themselves in situations that give them access to children. Anything sexual will be as scripture to those monsters. Object to any of it and you are painted as a hater, bigot, racist, you get the drift. It has become that the only way you know you are doing the right thing is if a leftist is rending their clothes and gnashing their teeth over it.

The utter dishonesty of the Washington Post article is both breathtaking and revealing of the Post's fundamental belief that public school districts and teachers have control and superior rights over the parents of students. Contained in a larger package of provisions that revise state education law law and reinforce parental rights in education, here is the disputed language in Florida Senate Bill 1834:

3. A school district may not encourage classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity in primary grade levels or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students.

4. A parent of a student may bring an action against a school district to obtain a declaratory judgment that a school district procedure or practice violates this paragraph and seek injunctive relief. A court may award damages and shall award reasonable attorney fees and court costs to a parent who receives declaratory or injunctive relief.

In other words, what the Washington Post is defending is for public school districts and teachers to be free to initiate classroom discussions about sexual orientation or gender identity in primary grade levels or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students.

The Washington Post no doubt approves of such class discussions in principle, but I doubt that most parents do. Note that the bill's language does not in any way restrict private counseling for students, which in other provisions the bill protects and encourages.

And the larger reason for the Post running such a fraud of a story is to provide a distraction from the Biden administration's dismal performance and collapsing poll numbers.
