Eddie Dobbins proposed marriage over text message, from a Las Vegas intensive care unit where he was being treated for COVID-19.

“Can you check and see if there is a way for us to get married long distance,” Dobbins, 74, tapped into his cellphone from his room at MountainView Hospital. “Love you baby.”

Patricia Hartmann, 75, accepted in all caps: “YES”

On Jan. 24, Dobbins popped the question.

On Jan. 25, Hartmann entered room 202 of the MountainView ICU as his sweetheart and left as his wife.

Dobbins came to MountainView with a combination of COVID, bacterial pneumonia and cancer. Because of his COVID status, Hartmann had been unable to visit him. Hospital staff made exceptions for the nuptials.

KEYWORDS: convid
Yet another tragic tale of evil convid. Never mind the bacterial pneumonia and cancer. Surely they had no part in this tragedy. So, "of", "from" or "with" convid-19. Anyway, RIP sir. Condolences to Mrs. Dobbins.

The poor man had a long list of ailments. But Communist China played at least some part in his death. It infuriates me that so many news sources treat the virus as if it just fell from space.

(Sorry for the rant.)

He had Covid pneumonia and cancer but it was the Covid that killed him. Everyone knows pneumonia and cancer are benign illnesses that resolve on their own. That only leaves the deadly Covid virus the most deadly scourge of an illness to hit the world in 100 years. Damn You Covid!!!
