Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) will not run for the Senate, rebuffing overtures from senior Senate Republicans who had sought to put another seat in play during the midterm elections.
At a press conference Tuesday, Hogan said he had considered a run but that he ultimately concluded he should focus on finishing out his second term as governor. Hogan is term-limited and cannot run for reelection this year.
“I will not be a candidate for the United States Senate. I sincerely appreciate all the people who have been encouraging me to consider it. A number of people have said they thought I could make a difference in the Senate,” Hogan said. “I don’t aspire to be a United States senator, and that fact has not changed.”
“I plan to run through the tape and finish next January,” he said.
Hogan called Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Tuesday to inform him. Hogan said he had also spoken with Sen. Rick Scott (Fla.), the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, and Sens. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) and Susan Collins (R-Maine) to tell them he wouldn't be running.

Hogan is a *ussy. This is his one shot in becoming a Senator. A “wave” year. Oh well. He’s a loser anyway.

He’s not a conservative...though it is Maryland - he would be a placeholder that just keeps Dems from having a seat to organize in favor of their control. However, he would have used the seat as a platform to attack his own party and be the darling of the media to provide them a voice to damage the Republicans as “extreme”. That would hardly be beneficial.

Words worth repeating twice.
The RINOs absolutely gave the Steal to the Dems. A presidential election and 3 Senate races stolen (two in GA one in MI) because of cheat-by-mail-in ballots and stuffed drop boxes. RINO-controlled state legislatures did nothing to stop it. Vote out every RINO who must face a primary this year.
Rats dodged a bullet on that one. Cardin’s up in ‘24. Easier to beat if he’s still alive. Logan will have 2 years to put on the ‘sexy’ facade.

This cycle 2022, Amnesty Senator Rubio, Crapo, Grassley, Amnesty Senator Hoeven, Lankford, Lee, Moran, Scott, Thune and Young all need to be primaried in 2022, even if Trump endorses them.

Active in the Maryland Republican party. He's toast. Repubs in Maryland are fed up with him.
Trump really changed the hearts of Republican voters here.
Even GOP Incumbent must be primaried out, if nothing else, but to send the message, that their time is up.
The ONLY way we will ever get new leadership in either house is new membership in both houses.
