Don’t ban the dogs, ban the irresponsible dog owners. And I bet you’re one of those folks who wants to ban guns, an inanimate object, but not the people who misuse them.
Unfortunately the CDC recently stopped the import of village dogs from the middle east. Very excellent animals, if you are lucky enough to have one.

A relative of mine raised a pit bull from a pup. And it was a nice, friendly dog...until one day it attacked and mauled the mailman.
Yes, other dogs have done that, too. But pit bulls have something bred into their DNA. It’s a shame. And it’s not the dog’s fault. But it is was it is.
Strange, I never hear about Golden Retrievers from bad pet owners attacking people.....
Guns don’t break out of their enclosures and attack people and pets at random. Pit bulls do it all the time. Shoot them all on sight, I say.
The flaw in your argument is that a gun cannot decide for itself to act. It requires a human to operate it because it is merely a piece of equipment.
Dogs are actual, live lifeforms capable of action independent of human control. They can choose to ignore their handlers orders and attack at will, something a gun does not have the option of doing.
I’ve known very very sweet pit bulls. Don’t want to own one, cuz I’m a Keeshond person.
Guns don’t go out and randomly attack people, unlike Pit Bulls. I’m not in favor of banning the dogs, but anyone who owns one should have his head examined.
