MIAMI (AP) — Two leading voices in Congress on Latin America have introduced bipartisan legislation to spur closer U.S. security cooperation in the region and turn back what they see as the growing, malign influence of China and Russia.
Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, the ranking member of the Select Committee on Intelligence, and Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman Bob Menendez introduced what they dubbed the “Western Hemisphere Security Strategy Act” on Monday.
The bill seeks to counter what the senators, both sons of Cuban immigrants, consider the “harmful and malign influence” in Latin America of China and Russia, arguing that the “destabilizing” influence of authoritarian governments in Beijing and Moscow pose unique risks to U.S. national security interests as well as the region's welfare.
If approved, the bill would require the Secretaries of State and Defense to jointly submit within 180 days a strategy to enhance diplomatic engagement and security assistance in the Western Hemisphere on issues ranging from drug trafficking to transnational crime. Concrete steps would include increasing military training exercises with partner nations and efforts to improve their capacity to conduct disaster relief operations.

The children of foreigners are PRECISELY who the founders were excluding with the natural born citizen requirement.
They are not naturally Americans as they are born the nationality of their foreign parent(s), even if we foolishly give them citizenship as well.

If Rubio and Menendez are involved, you can be sure the deep-state and CIA have already told them what the plan is.
So, while the leadership of all these countries send their worst to the United States so the women can pop out a citizen, something neither Rubio or Menéndez have an issue with as long as none of them live near the Senators, that very same leadership is getting cozy with the Chinese.
If anyone on this website, or anywhere for that matter, doesn’t think that EVERY member of Congress and individual in an SES position needs to be fired, with prejudice, or voted out of office they need to have their heads examined. And they shouldn’t be allowed to vote.
Bipartisan. Great. Bipartisan usually means that the Stupid Party got together with the Evil Party to do something that is stupid and evil.
I’m old enough to remember when they crucified Ronald Reagan and prosecuted Oliver North for doing exactly what they are proposing today.
Democrats and Democrat Lites (aka about half of Republicans) introduce legislation that does the exact opposite of what it purports. What are the odds this is the same thing?
Rubio is also in favor of sending all those US troops to eastern Europe instead of putting them on our own border.
Isn’t the time of the zones of influence over?
