Russia, Ukraine and NATO's future – America's next crisis
FOX News.com ^ | February 7, 2022 | Keith Kellogg

I adhere to an American First doctrine. While that does not mean American alone, it certainly entails a prioritization of issues, policies, and efforts that best serve the American people.

There are many conservatives who disagree and are far more apt to champion an interventionist stance viewing America as the world’s police. The last two weeks have made it increasingly clear who belongs to which camp.

It is my belief the Ukraine crisis should be, fundamentally, a European issue, and we should roundly reject the drumbeat of war, and all that escalation entails. Those who believe otherwise, and champion American involvement, cite an encroachment upon democracy and invoke NATO. More specifically, they narrowly focus on the ominous words of the Treaty’s Article 5, "An attack on one is an attack on all."

The West is pushing hard to make the current standoff a Russia-NATO issue. This would make sense if Ukraine were a NATO member.

It is not.

Originally formed more than 70 years ago as a purely defensive alliance against the Soviet Union with just 12 nations, NATO has evolved to a too-large, amorphous group committed to a vision espoused by former Secretary of State Madeline Albright. She explained the purposes of NATO to not only "protect against Europe’s next war" but also "to defend Europe’s gains towards democracy, peace and integration."

George Kennan, the architect of America’s policy during the Cold War, called the expansion of NATO in the late 1990s "a fateful error" and in an interview with Thomas Friedman, explained his concerns as follows:

"I think the Russians will gradually react quite adversely, and it will affect their policies. I think it is a tragic mistake. There was no reason for this whatsoever.

NATO is too busy with more important things

The Gender & Hybrid Deep Dive is the first among a series of future sessions, including Gender & Resilience, Gender & Deterrence and Gender & Climate Change. The Deep Dive series aim to integrate a gender perspective throughout all of #NATO’s core tasks.

There are really two crises brewing: Ukraine and Taiwan.

What happens in one will affect the other.

The Biden presidency is a non-stop crisis creating machine.

And that is because democrats need for never-ending crises in order to establish their permanent control over the nation.

Yup. Both Putin and Xi know the bellicose rhetoric coming out of the White House is an attempt to deflect concern away from the manifest illegitimacy of the current US regime, the fact that no real President exists, and our manifest weakness on every front: political, economic and military.

Think about the fact that there is no real President in the White House. Biden is nothing more than a scripted drooling sock puppet with the US government actually controlled by a committee of Democrat Party fiefdoms. There isn't even a decision loop to get inside of.

Should a real military crisis actually develop, not only is there no real decision making power, the regime has no political legitimacy to draw upon to command the sacrifices needed to fight. We're a headless chicken running around the international stage.

It’s not just a distraction: it’s quite possible (and in fact likely) for this regime to combine the economic debacle at home with military catastrophe abroad.

There’s something dirty in the cards and it will revealed at the moment the Deep State forces in the US-UK intelligence community decide to reveal it.

This is a useless editorial about a problem that doesn’t exist.

From the ed: “There are many conservatives who disagree and are far more apt to champion an interventionist stance viewing America as the world’s police.”

I have not seen more than 1 person on FreeRepublic, the epic conservative message board, declare we need to intervene in Ukraine.

Fact; The US and NATO have advised Russia, the invasion is up to them, the West will not intervene. However there will be economic restrictions placed on Russia if they invade.

These weak straw-man arguments, are repeated over and over again by the Russians that infect this site and their pro Russia dupes, who act as the new useful idiots for Russian interventions in Europe.

There is no crisis for the US in the Ukraine unless it wants one, which appears to be the case.

As a country we are leaderless. No real leadership at any level of government. Just a bunch of corrupt political hacks and party apparatchiks only interested in exploiting the system for their own benefit.

Not a single statesman among them. The Founding Fathers must be weeping.
