Wouldn’t you say that Hitler was a fascist instead of a communist?

I said "Like all communists", not "Like all other communists". He wasn't a communist. Hitler was actually leader of the socialist party of Germany, and although the Nazis turned into fascists rather than socialists once they attained power, socialism is how they attained power in the first place. That's the general tendency of any group that acquires that much power.

RE: “Wouldn’t you say that Hitler was a fascist instead of a communist?”

No. Mussolini was a fascist. Hitler was a NAZI an acronym for National Socialist German Workers’ Party.
Socialism and Communism are simply two sides of the same coin, so Hitler was a communist.

The Communists were SOCIALISTS.
The Nazis were Nationalist SOCIALISTS.
The Fascists were the minor political party party of Mussolini.

That is why today the Communist SOCIALISTS always call the Nationalist SOCIALISTS the name FASCIST, to avoid calling fellow SOCIALISTS “Socialists”.

The Nationalist SOCIALISTS and the Communist SOCIALISTS were simply two wings of the same buzzard.

“Controversial problems [between Germany and Russia] did not, in my opinion, exist anywhere along the line from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea and to the Far East. In addition, despite all the divergencies in their views of life, there was one thing common to the ideology of Germany, Italy and the Soviet Union: opposition to the capitalist democracies in the West.”—Julius Schnurre, Nazi trade rep to Russia.

Hitler was a socialist a hypernational racist socialist but still a socialist i.e., national socialist - NAZI. He even said so, as did Goebbels.

Nazism connection to Fascism is more convenience then an exact match.
