You mean he should have been in such a hurry in leftist NY to speak out against stimulus (which he eventually did anyways) that he should have focused on that as a game plan from the first Monday morning? The man has a long list of opposing crazy leftist state programs, including licenses for illegals (he held that in check for a long time nearly singlehandedly) and gay marriage, legalization of degenerate pot, etc. things which almost all the other state level republicans supported and unfortunately ultimately they got their way, along with their democrat cronies. Tedisco is only one man. He also was one of the leaders in the the charge against Cuomo.
Drugs, probably, uf he thinks even in the 20th district voters were boiling about stimulus.

He threw that special election in 2009. It was an incredible embarrassment and completely pathetic. The voters didn’t want someone who didn’t know what his own opinion was. Why would they? It wasn’t ‘threading the needle’. He acted like he had Down Syndrome. The giant quivering lady part couldn’t even tell us if he was going to vote for the 2010 Gubernatorial nominee. Sorry, but the guy ain’t no hero.
I don’t trust him. Never trusted him. The NY Republican party is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the NY Democrat party. For a while, they were content to stop the D’s from going ‘too far’. Then, they even gave up on that. Now, they’re worse than worthless.

The Dems took it in a wave first of all. Secondly, the guy who lost it got bagged driving drunk with a young girl who was not his wife! THAT is why the Dems won it. As soon as a competent nominee got in, which happened to be 2010, it swung right back. Then, there was redistricting and the waters were muddied IIRC.
Tedisco failed miserably. He was a massive star in that district and to fumble the ball that badly, one simply has to be trying to do it.
And yes, that one answer completely tanked his campaign. He went from leading the polls convincingly to badly trailing immediately after. He never even bothered to try and recover.
What is this whole ‘hurry’ thing you’re speaking of? I knew what my opinion on it was without any problem. We all knew. It wasn’t exactly a surprise. It wasn’t like they sprung it on us all and we were shocked by it. It was planned and spelled out.

I saw polls going both ways from the very beginning. No one said "oh he doesn't know whether he supports Obama policy or not" You have no proof of that even if it were conceivable.

No comparison at all, for the very reason that the Obama stimulus had been already railroaded through--the very issue that you are saying Tedisco needed to "know" his opinion on, and really which Tedisco would have had to jump up and down in support for in order to secure more votes. And then you would say you didn't trust him for that.
Truth is Tedisco did much better than I expected, considering his very conservative platform.
