I agree her music, her creations have stood up. Free Man in Paris is a telephone conversation— whatever Geffen’s lifestyle was (and he’s definitely a homosexual fwiw, and demonrat fanatic as a result)- he was clearly tired of, as the song says “stoking starmaker machinery behind the Popular song” or dealing with “dreamers and telephone screamers” (there are so many desperate people for recognition of any sort who stalk people whose business it is to help talent— as they see it- to realize their art, and profit from it in some way as well as themselves). Lot of Geffens have much worse egos.

Now thinking of this there is great song “The Gallery” from Dire Strait’s Mark Knopfler that speaks of the crap that was and is visual art... which the DEALERS decide is ‘art’.
