I do agree that money matters. Even today, with all the information available, folks still won’t take the time to do a little research. Human nature.
But, I tend to think that times are changing. Pres Trump exposed and continues to expose these people. One of the things I still find amazing is that they still think they would stand a chance in a straight up, fair fight. Give equal time/money and most of, if not all, the NeverTrump/RINOs would be gone from the landscape.
In Georgia, I believe resulting from an Abrams lawsuit, party affiliation is no longer on the ballot next to the candidates name. So, if you ask for the general ballot, with everyone’s name on it and you haven’t done your research, for some of the races that aren’t as well known, you might not have any idea who you’re voting for. You can, however, ask for the party line ballot, so you know everyone on there is the candidate of your choosing/party.
You may not understand it or believe it but money makes a huge difference. You study the platforms and study the candidates. Many people do not. Some vote for who their union says to vote for. Some even vote for the best looking candidate. Some vote for the candidates that have the most ads on television.

There is a reason RINO politicians exist. RINO voters.
Yes, you have to ‘connect’ with people.
That’s why Trump won and Hillary LOST!..........
I think that’s part of it.
I also think the local RINO GOP apparatus plays a major role. They place a huge role in who gets the money and time to get elected.
County commissions, their pals in the zoning offices, and the state GOP and politicians are just as dirty and corrupt as the folks in DC.
If they don’t want someone, then you can be sure that the person is not someone willing to go along with their schemes.
One needs to look at some of the crap going on in Georgia recently and a year or two ago to see just how corrupt the local and state politicians are.
Donald Trump defeated that whole cabal because he didnt need their money or support.
Judging by some replies here regarding TV ads, I must be in the minority when I don’t watch much of anything unless I recorded it so I can avoid the waste of time having to sit through terrible ads.

I was ecstatic to see him finally caught and I hope he’s in prison.
