It’s Time for America to Leave NATO and for Europe to Resolve Their Internal Disputes

Since 1916 and the First World War, United States foreign policy has been dominated by Eurocentrism. Following the Second World War, America has been the military protector of Western Europe for 73 years through the North Atlantic Treaty Organization or NATO.

Now the time has come to disband NATO and tell the countries of Europe, in particular Germany, that they are on their own, as this nation must focus on its ever-growing domestic problems and the global threat of Communist China.

The United States should have begun the process of severing military commitments with Europe after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. After all, protecting Europe and thus the United States against Soviet aggression was the primary purpose of NATO. But an irrational fear of a non-existent nation and its former satellites still persists and has been conferred on its much smaller and less formidable successor, Russia. Together with the compulsive need to defend a prosperous continent these two pillars still form the basis of American military planning and international policy.

The divorce process should have been accelerated in 1993 when the anti-democratic European Union comprising 27 European countries and unified economic, social and security policies came into being. The combined population of these nations is 33% larger and their overall annual Gross National Product is second only to the United States. Since 1993 Europe has been more than capable of defending itself.

... until Europe proves unable to resolve them, and the conflagration worsens to the point of threatening to destroy all of Western Civilization - and, meanwhile in the Asian-Pacific Theatre, an ally of the power(s) threatening Europe attack our west coast.

Do we really want to wait until it gets that bad before intervening again?

Regards,

Well Macron is the lead now in negotiations and other European leaders are stepping up to meet with Putin. So this is what he’s been asking for and wold leaders know he means business about obtaining security agreements.....which key are the Minsk agreements everybody agreed on prior and which Macron has discussed with Putin.

Russia has more nukes than the US, UK and France combined and is a close military ally of China, North Korea, Iran, etc. I’m not entirely sure why we’re supposed to just ignore that and focus on China, which is only one member of this anti-American force. And I’m not sure how disbanding NATO would help us against China. The Germans are traitors, but this is not true of all the NATO countries. In the very near future, countries like Poland are going to have some of the strongest militaries in the world, all thanks to Russia’s warmongering. The Germans meanwhile are finally showing their true colors as Russian puppets.

Well Biden’s not even part of the discussions now...thank God! Watch Macron because he’s currently the guy in discussions with Putin.....others are planning trips. here really is many top level security leaders operating now.

Putins going to take this as far as he needs to this time around IMO. We’ve put countless weapons, missiles and military personnel as well as officials in Ukraine to p*iss him plenty while being ignored in requesting meetings to discuss the issues.
I think he’ll continue ‘showing’ this time around it cannot be just talks.....but agreements.

We need to avoid putting our folks in harms way and stop paying everyone else bills. But if we pull completely out, large problems will occur. France seems to be stepping in to fill the gap but will it have the leverage to succeed? Germany is not to be trusted not to put a knife in our back or ally with Russia and Turkey, which we maybe too late as it is. Poland and such are too weak and corrupt to trust.

Macron is a strutting arrogant fool and the weak sister of Germany, who is the real lead in brokering a long-stalled political arrangement between Ukraine and Russia. Germany is still the most powerful European nation, has experience uniting a divided country, and understands Realpolitik balance of power as a foundation of foreign policy.

What we think of country leaders and what Putin thinks are of course not the same. I’m up for any he chooses to speak with that even remotely stand a chance of calming things down. France was a strong part O the Minsk agreements they and five others agreed to. So I can see why Putin would speak with Macron.

Germany’s Merkle....is no longer there and she and Putin shared a long term relationship. What they’re new PRes. is like I’m not up to date to comment.

Author ignores its not just about Ukraine. Putin is demanding NATO never admit Finland and Sweden. Also, Putin has demanded NATO withdraw all forces from countries that entered NATO after 1997: Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

Russia warns NATO against inclusion of Finland, Sweden

Another article in the Russian draft would require that NATO deploy no forces or weapons in countries that joined the alliance after May 1997

The Green movement walked Germany down a rabbit hole. Now that they’ve shut down their nuclear and coal plants and it’s become obvious solar and wind power is a hoax they find themselves at the mercy of the Russians; screwed, blued and tattooed.

We needed to keep NATO around to bomb the crap out of the Serbs and sever Kosovo from Serbia.

By the way, does ANYONE know why we got involved there? I’m still trying to figure it out.

The SUN, 1/26/22:

Neo-Nazi militias in Ukraine are preparing for all-out war with Russia as they arm themselves for the fight against Vladimir Putin’s forces.

“Telegram messages seen by The Sun Online show how the extreme far-right Azov Battalion are carrying out military-style drills and pledging to fight to the death. ...

Despite their use of neo-Nazi symbols such as the Wolfsangel and their ties to violent football hooliganism and Ukraine’s infamous “Ultras”, the Battalion was incorporated into Ukraine’s National Guards to support their fight against Russia, and today is said to still have several thousand members. ...”

We should stay out of it. Biden just split from Afghanistan in shame, bungling the withdrawal, the U.S. spent tens or hundreds of billions there, and now he wants to get involved in Ukraine. They aren’t in NATO, they aren’t the problem of the U.S.

It's not 1938, it's much closer to 1914.

NATO expansion, and why Russia views Ukraine joining NATO as a moral peril (BTW, its only 500 miles from Kiev to Moscow)

You keep posting moronic statements like this. The distance from Tallinn(capitol of Estonia) to Moscow is 539 miles. Estonia is a NATO member since 2004. Somehow Russia survived this "mortal peril". NATO is NOT an invasion threat to Russia. US has 167 troops in Poland, 132 troops in Romania, and 77 troops in Hungary.
