I like the description of Saskatchewan as a “Canadian Province that borders on the U.S.

All Canadian provinces that are not effectively islands have land borders with the U.S.—people have to live somewhere, and most Canadians live close to the U.S. (or in Edmonton) so of course you need a land border with the U.S. if you are going to be a province.
(yes Nova Scotia is technically a peninsula, and since Newfoundland was given Labrador part of the province technically has a land border with Quebec).
