Now that’s more like it for white out conditions.
“Not on wheels...nor as thick as a Grill. Air circulation around chairs.”
When we get 50+ mph around here, lawn furniture ends up next door, at least.
How’d your waffles turn out? I prefer the strawberries, but I wouldn’t have complained about the blueberries, as I wasn’t making them.
Did “Ugghhhnnnnn...” enjoy them?
You have to follow up with this info, and maybe pictures, if you’re going tease everyone about making homemade waffles.
The waffles were yummy. (Sorry, I didn't take any pictures.)
But even though I used some low glycemic-index flours
like buckwheat and almond flour, I did also use some
all-purpose and whole wheat flours (higher glycemic- index).
And I - being a diabetic - had my blood sugar numbers
spike into the mid-300s - which is not good.
So I skipped lunch, drank about a half gallon of water,
went to the bathroom five times, and by dinner time my
number was down to 99 (which IS good).
But the waffles were good, and worth it.
Gotta bend or flat-out break the rules once in a while
and LIVE a little - if you can call something so 'extravagant'
as making a batch of waffles 'extravagant'.
And yes I used Suralose/Splenda instead of sugar in them.
I quite dislike having diabetes, I'll tell ya.
But that's the reason for the 'tease' - for me waffles
really are a major event.
I'll do it again next year when a big snowstorm comes.
How long before they start naming thunderstorms?
Oh wow...what a contrast! You sure got your share of the storm!
Try waffles with mini-morsels.
The chocolate makes them awesome.
Well, best shovel out and clear what you can.
There’s another storm shaping up for Thurs/Fri that will start out with mild temperatures on Wed and Thursday which is rain changing to snow.
Then cold again, so it’s going to turn into a block of ice.
Texas FReepers also need to watch the temperatures again.
Joe Bastardi at WeatherBell doesn’t expect the cold snap will not be as bad as last year, but it’s still supposed to be significant.
It’s on his Saturday Summary.

I am trying to stay strong so I will not dishonor my Inuit Ancestors, but this is getting to be a bit much.
I have seen the conditions they lived in and still live in on video. The cold and dark for so long every year. UGH!
It is staggering that people can survive in those kinds of conditions.
On my Dad’s side...Eastern Inuit and Mic-Mac. Funny thing is, during the Korean War, my Dad was stationed in the Aleutians. You can see Russia from some of those islands!
When I was a kid, Dad taught me Arctic Survival. I thought it was strange at the time, but now I’m glad i know that stuff. LOL.
Did I tell you I HATE Winter?
Yes, I believe you have mentioned that before.
My ancestry includes those who used to survive Russian winters as peasants in the Ukraine. Not as extreme as the Arctic, however.
But I am with you on the cold. If I had my way, I’d be in FL enjoying the warm and sun.
I've done sugar free chocolate chips or carob chips.
But let's be healthy and put mandarin orange segments
and grated coconut in there.
Or molasses, cinnamon, ginger, and clove powder.
Or just a mix of diced fresh fruit....
Don't get me started...
:-)
Russian Winters are horrible.
Just ask napoleon. LOL.
I brush my teeth with dry ice! LOL!
Well, since waffles are not the epitome of healthy eating, I go for broke and make them as decadent as possible.
If you’re not going to eat well, you might as well just really enjoy the moment and work on healthy eating another time.
As a wise woman who was very conscientious about eating once told me.
It’s what you do most of the time that counts, not what you do once in a while, so go ahead and enjoy the once in a while’s.
