Just reading the line, I don’t think his problem is with the vest. I think he was OK with the vest, just not the “Soviet style police state.” If Acosta thinks Virginia is now the Soviet Union, he needs to go back and read some Solzhenitsyn.

Acosta's buried premise is that Youngkin ran as a different kind of Republican. That "difference," according to Acosta has proven to be running "a Soviet-style police state across the Potomac from Washington," instead of wearing a fleece vest, which apparently is haute couture. Acosta is a moroon and his name should be Bob also spelled with two o's.
I’m pretty impressed with Virginia’s line up of late. Pulling back the state from the brink of communism to embrace liberty, freedom and COMMON SENSE.
I can and as a rule, I DO ignore. Acosta, but I can’t let this pass.
Virginians are SMILING AND LAUGHING AND SHOPPING AND LIVING HAPPILY, for the first time in a long time.
So, sit down, Jim, and know that you can’t change Virginia for at least four years. Hopefully never.
Is part of the problem is the left teaches history as if it were the Republican party itself that was responsible for all the miseries of the planet.

And who cares what Youngkin was wearing? Is there some kind of unwritten rule that a male candidate must wear a suit and tie?
I don’t remember Acosta labeling California a Soviet style police state during forced lockdowns, and arrests of young solo men at the beach. Maybe I missed it.
I don’t understand what you don’t understand.
I think, for Acosta the vest was a symbol of Youngkin saying “I’m a nice, regular suburban white guy.” Acosta feels that the policies that he characterizes (with extreme hyperbole) as “Soviet” are not the things a nice, regular guy would do.
Reading Acosta is upset gives me hope for Virginia. I hope other states follow suit.
There is no cure for what he has. You can only hope to contain him in a padded room until he expires.
Acosta must NOT have any children.
So now Acosta has done a 180 and does not like Soviet style police states.
Hard to keep up with these folks.
