So contagious shielding does not protect
Prior immunity from having had a previous covid infection …or being vaccinated…does not protect from Omicron ( though vaxx may keep at risk population from severe disease and out of the hospital)
The only scientific reason to get vaxx is for yourself
Your vaxx does not protect Grandma
In other words…we’re all gonna get it
The good news…it’s a mild ( nonlethal) variant for healthy people of all ages, and seems to provide immunity from reinfection, at last from more omicron mutations, which can be expected given the rapid global spread even reinfecting those recovered from past variants and those taking vaxxes
Omicron seems to be turning covid from a pandemic to an endemic, like flu
