TALLAHASSEE — A panel of Florida senators on Wednesday advanced the confirmation of Joseph Ladapo, Gov. Ron DeSantis’ pick to be Florida’s surgeon general.
After an hour of grilling Ladapo on COVID-19 vaccines, his resume and other Department of Health initiatives, Democrats refused to participate in the vote.
“We don’t feel that we’re getting any answers,” Sen. Lauren Book, D-Plantation, said just before senators were set to begin debate over the confirmation. “The Florida Senate Democrats in this committee now are going to abstain, walk out and come back when we have more business.”
The Republicans on the committee then quickly advanced Ladapo’s nomination. Democrats are in the minority on the committee, and their votes would not have changed the outcome.

Both sides do this, usually when they are powerless to effect the outcome anyway.
The dems show their cowardice by not being on the record.
So, Dr. Ladapo was born in Nigeria. That explains the last name. I thought maybe he was Brazilian. Many Nigerian imigrants or there children are hardworking and good students.
With their own country in shreds due to militia groups such as
the Boko Harem, they know real opportunity when they see it here.
When do cowardly Republicans do it?
It must have felt great for all these racist Democrats to release all their pent-up purulence, like lancing a boil.
Well, we talked about doing it following certain hateful remarks from members of The Squad, but I don’t think it ever really happened.
I saw him on Tucker. Very impressive.
The next time the Republicans do it will be their first time.
Don’t let the screen door hit ‘ya in the ass on the way out, sweetie!

I’m confused, so both sides do this, or only one side?
>their votes would not have changed the outcome<
That is the proper way of dealing with the democrats - put them in a minority such that their votes would not affect the outcome.
"We don't feel that we're getting the answers we wanted", Sen. Lauren Book, D-Plantation, said.
Democrat plantation!!!! Hahahahahahahahaha.
“We don’t feel that we’re getting any answers,” Sen. Lauren Book, D-Plantation,
+++++++++++++++
Having seen Dr. Ladapo speak before, the DemonRats WERE getting answers, it’s just that they didn’t like the answers they were getting.
The R’s in Oregon were doing this a lot in the past, Mainly because they were able to stop the vote by not having enough reps present. Gov had their Troopers haul em back
His answers to their questions were very detailed and concise. The only other possible reason that they walked out is that the Dims don’t like independent-minded Blacks.
This is what happens when democrats face resistance. Vicious Temper tantrums, lashing out at schoolchildren, petulance and other pre-adolescent behaviors. DeSantis should treat them like stubborn teenagers.
"Sen. Lauren Book, D-Plantation,"
Oh well. Too bad, so sad. Say hello to Florida’s new Surgeon General.
