It might not stop transmission, but it does decrease it and decrease the length of illness. Also pilots often have to travel across international borders. Most countries have much easier entry requirements for people who are fully vaccinated than those who are not. It’s impossible for a pilot to work if 2 weeks of isolation are required for any unvaccinated person who enters a county but vaccinated people can enter without restriction.

Most other countries recognize natural immunity, too.
