Confirmation of the VP requires only “a majority”, not 60. There’s the issue of a potential filibuster, but I suspect that wouldn’t be applied to a confirmation vote.
Filibusters do not apply to Supreme Court picks. If they did President Trump would not have gotten a single justice. All you need is 51. If the Republicans close ranks she would have to break the tie by voting for herself. Is that legal?
You're right, I stand corrected. The rule changed back in 2017.
With that being said, there is no way in hell she would ever be nominated to the SC simply because she's the VP. There are too many actual liberal judges out there to choose from.
